Elemi Atigolo

Founder of Autonomy Economics. Author. Managing Partner at Consult Venture Partners.

Elemi Atigolo is the founder of Autonomy Economics and author of The Agentic Profit Paradox and the Reorganisation of Value Capture, the foundation paper establishing Autonomy Economics as a formal field. He is Managing Partner at Consult Venture Partners.

His work examines how autonomous capability reorganises value capture, revenue durability, and commercial defensibility across industries. He first introduced the Agentic Profit Paradox in FT The Banker in February 2026. The foundation paper, posted to SSRN in April 2026, develops the construct formally across 145 pages, drawing on historical precedent spanning more than two centuries.

Background

Elemi's perspective is shaped by earlier work in banking and private wealth management at HSBC and St. James's Place, where he focused on investment strategy and capital allocation in regulated settings, and by subsequent experience building AI systems in production environments from 2020 onward.

He has contributed to discussions with the Financial Conduct Authority and other regulators on the responsible use of AI in financial services. In 2025, he was selected as one of six innovators for the FCA AI Spotlight delegation to represent the UK at the Singapore Insights Forum.

His professional trajectory includes recognition as a UK Fintech Innovator of the Year finalist, membership of the Forbes Advisor UK Advisory Board, listing on the London CityWealth Leaders' List, designation as an MIT Global Technology Expert Panelist, and recognition in the Top 30 Tech Titans in Fintech & Data by Refinitiv/LSEG in 2021.

He holds a BSc in Computer Science and Distributed Information Systems and an MA in Accounting and Finance.
